10 Softball Fundraiser Ideas That Work
We run the Slice the Price Card, a Domino’s pizza card fundraiser. So of course it’s #1 on our list! All 10 ideas are proven favorites that school and travel softball teams have used for years. Most teams combine a few of them over a season.
- Slice the Price Card sale. Each player shares a personal link. Supporters buy a $20 Domino’s card that gives a free large pizza with the purchase of a large at participating Domino’s. Your team keeps $10 of every card. There is no upfront cost and nothing to store. A two-week sale covers travel-ball entry fees without another parent check.
- Hit-a-thon. Supporters pledge per foot on each player’s longest hits, measured at one practice. It costs nothing to run and it is over in an afternoon.
- Themed raffle baskets. Families each put together a basket around a theme. You raffle them at a home tournament. It costs almost nothing, and the baskets can sell themselves.
- Fence banner sponsorships. Local businesses pay to hang a banner at your field for the season. A one-page sponsor sheet and a few conversations is the whole ask.
- Home-game and tournament concessions. Tournament weekends keep families at the park all day. Staff a concession table in shifts. It can bring steady money.
- Youth clinic. Your players teach younger girls hitting and fielding for a morning, for a registration fee. It raises money and can build the program.
- Parents vs. players game. Sell admission and let the families take on the team. Pair it with the concession stand and a raffle.
- Spirit wear. Team shirts, hoodies, and visors for players, parents, and fans. Take preorders so nobody is stuck with a box of unsold visors.
- Restaurant spirit night. A local restaurant gives your team a share of one evening’s sales. Pick a night with no game on it and remind families twice.
- Car wash. Straightforward, costs nothing to start, and a full roster can run one in a single Saturday morning.

The Slice the Price Card is a Domino’s Pizza fundraiser. It has helped groups raise money since 1999. Your supporters buy a $20 card, and the card sells itself. It gets them a free large pizza when they buy a large pizza at menu price. It works at participating Domino’s stores until the card expires.
- Zero upfront cost. There is no cost to your group, ever, no minimum order, and no leftover inventory, because cards are only sent out once they are sold. The program is risk-free.
- 50% profit. Cards sell for $20 and your group keeps $10 of every card sold.
- Sell online, on paper, or both. We set up a free online store. Supporters can buy from anywhere, and we ship the cards to them. You can also use printed order forms. Groups that use both usually sell more cards than groups that only sell online.
- Runs two weeks. A short sale keeps everyone focused. We find it gets the best results.
- A specialist helps the whole way. Your Fundraising Specialist sets it up with you. They send your materials and check in with you.
- Free prize programs. You can add prize and T-shirt programs that reward sellers. They work great for schools and younger sellers.
Cards are good for 6 months to 1 year, based on when your fundraiser starts. The expiration date is printed on every card. See the full program details.
Why it’s perfect for softball teams
Gear costs add up. Softball gear is a real expense. It includes bats, gloves, helmets, catcher’s equipment, and uniforms. Travel and rec programs often pay for all of it themselves. A two-week card sale helps cover gear and fees without another bake sale.
Tournament weekends cost money. Travel softball means tournament weekends. These bring entry fees, hotels, and gas. A card sale before the season puts money in hand. Then families are not hit with one bill after another.
Easy sell to close families. Softball teams have a close-knit circle of families who show up game after game. A buy-one-get-one-free large pizza is an easy sell to that crowd. Each player shares a personalized online link with her own relatives and friends.
Zero risk to the team. There is no upfront cost, no minimum, and no leftover inventory, because cards are only sent out once they are sold. The team keeps half of whatever it sells. A dedicated specialist sets the whole thing up.
What your team can earn
Your group keeps $10 for every $20 card sold — a full 50% profit with no upfront cost. There is no minimum and no maximum number of cards.
The math is simple:
Participants × Cards per participant × $10 = Your profit
10 participants selling 15 cards each
$1,500
25 participants selling 15 cards each
$3,750
50 participants selling 20 cards each
$10,000
100 participants selling 20 cards each
$20,000
Most groups raise around $1,500. Larger or highly motivated groups have raised $10,000+. Our largest fundraiser raised about $21,450. A fundraiser needs at least 5 participants. These numbers are only a guide for setting goals. Real results depend on how many people sell and how hard they work.
